Staff Writer There is a new restaurant in Idaho Falls named the Tchê (ch-ee) Brazilian Grill. The Tchê opened on September 20, 2023. The restaurant is located at 2394 East Sunnyside Road in Idaho Falls; it can seat around 220 people and is approximately 7,000 square feet. The restaurant's hours are Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 pm and Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm. The Tchê restaurant is an all-you-can-eat style buffet that includes a variety of steak, chicken, pasta, and salad. They have a menu that contains drinks and a few desserts. Desserts as well as drinks are available at an added cost. One of the desserts is the Chocolate Brigadeiro Cake; it is a small round chocolate cake topped with a delicious caramel frosting. While the food aspects of the restaurant were rather impressive, the interior is just as stunning. There are many enormous paintings that accent the woodwork. It is a modern, open-concept, and peaceful restaurant. Several windows allow just the right amount of light to enter the building. The Tchê servers are some of the best that I have ever encountered. They always have smiles on their faces; they do their best to make you feel welcome. The service they provide is quite speedy. They check on you regularly to be sure you are enjoying the food and to see if you need anything else. My server was Naylea Ramirez; she decided to work at Tchê Brazilian Grill because she needed a job to pay her college tuition at BYU-I. While I was there, she was able to answer a few of my interview questions. I asked her what the work environment was like, and she responded, “people are really nice and the managers do their best to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated.” The last question I asked Ramirez was “What is one thing you would say about this restaurant,” and she responded, “This restaurant is very unique, there is no other restaurant like it.” Ramirez meant unique as the closest Brazilian grill is over four hours away, and Tchê is an eccentric dining option for Southeast Idaho. When at the restaurant, I had the privilege of interviewing one of the managers, Brett Rasmussen. Upon asking Rassmussen what inspired him to work at the restaurant, he revealed that he "[has] run restaurants for 20 years" before coming to work at Tchê. He "wanted to be able to manage the restaurant because it is the first franchise of Tchê Brazilian Grill in the world." According to Rasmussen, people should visit Tchê because “It is a one of a kind restaurant that gives people a chance to experience something new.” I felt quite honored to have interviewed Rasmussen, he helped me feel welcomed and comfortable. The managers and servers always do their best to make you feel welcome and the food is unlike anything I have ever tasted. It is definitely worthwhile to go to Tchê Brazilian Grill.
