Ash Merritt
Editor-In_Chief A warm welcome to you! I am Ash! I am Editor-in-Chief for The Bonneville Buzz Newspaper. I am a senior this year and I am excited to begin my journey this year. I enjoy writing for journalism, they are my family. Mrs. Wagner is one of my favorite teachers, she does great with this staff and much more! I have two puppies, Thor and Loki, and one cat, Mr. Whiskers. I have lived in Idaho all my life. I live with my little brother, little sister and my mother. I frequently read, write, or draw. My favorite book as of right now is Neon Gods by Katee Roberts. I have an interest in the mind and how it works. I have always been entertained by the way others think and react. I also love learning new things about people. Especially people's personalities, they are so different and it is super fun to see. I also love coffee, like a lot, that is one key to my heart. Grisel Gonzalez
Assistant Editor Hi! My name is Grisel Gonzalez, and I am one of the editors for journalism this year. I am 16 years old and a junior in high school. Journalism has remained my favorite class all three years of high school so far, and it is the main reason I love Bonneville. I have a passion for writing; however, I want to pursue radiology in the future. Once I get my degree, I plan on going the travel technician route and travel the world. My favorite color is pink and my favorite fast food is Wingstop. I also really love Twilight, photography, sunsets, my golden doodle Milo, purses, sweet perfume, and my family. I like music from every genre, but some of my favorite artists/bands are the Smiths, Deftones, the Neighborhood, Brent Faiyaz, Frank Ocean, 21 Savage, Steve Lacy, Mac Demarco, and Drake. So, these are just a couple of things that make me me. I hope everyone enjoys the amazing articles our staff produce this year! |
Anna Kidd
Assistant Editor Welcome one and all to the staff page! My name is Anna Kidd, I do have many nicknames most of which are animal related (fish, goat, jellyfish, goose, and etc.) This year, I am the newspaper’s assistant editor. I am in my senior year and near the end of the final countdown. Some fun facts about me is I have two puppies (ie. one is 2 ½ years old and the other is five months old.) My oldest puppy, Duke, is a golden retriever and a big dramatic baby. My other puppy, Duchess, is a golden doodle and a shark (biter.) Another fun fact about me: I do struggle with writing and grammar, but I love picking ideas and sentences apart to create a coherent story. I am also interested in art, specifically AP art is a class I am working in. |
Emory Anderson
Staff Writer Hey presents, It's Emory and I decided to do Journalism because it is something that I enjoy. Some of my hobbies include drawing, reading and sleeping. I am an amazing friend (some may say otherwise). If there was an award for sleeping, I could probably get with me being able to sleep for 16 hours. The books that I like to read are all fiction and mostly some kind of mythology. There is not a single book in the last year that I have started that I have also finished. I also enjoy hanging with my friends that can drive me places. Why would I get my license when I can be a passenger princess and have the driver buy me stuff? (is this all the same from last year word for word? Yes. Do I care? No) now for my writing ability only half of what I type is coherent. |
Aaliyah Garcia
Staff Writer Hi, my name is Aaliyah, and I am a part of the BHS journalism staff! I am a sophomore at Bonneville High School, and my favorite subject is math. My favorite things to do in my free time are spending time with my family, watching movies, and baking sweet treats. My favorite movies are the Twilight movies, and I love baking varieties of bread with family and friends. I first started journalism because my friend had done it and really liked it. She convinced me and was talking about all the fun things they do like writing articles and posting them on an official news page. I love Journalism and will continue to do it throughout high school. I love going out, making life fun, and meeting new friends. |
Brielle Loveland
Staff Writer Hii! My name is Brielle Loveland. I am a freshman at Bonneville High School. I joined journalism because I heard it was a super amazing class and the teacher was amazing (She is). I love to watch movies. My favorite movie is Donnie Darko or Requiem for a dream. I also love to listen to music in my freetime and I mostly just hangout with my family and Friends. I have 3 siblings, my brothers who are twins and my little sister and my dad and stepmom! I love the color purple and I love to travel! I very much love cats and think they're so cool. I do not have a cat anymore but I would love to get another one soon! |
Ashlynn Morgan
Staff Writer Hey, pookies, my name is Ashlynn Morgan (I am being forced to write this against my will). I am a staff writer for the year 2024-2025 (Wagner is also a hostage). I am a sophomore at Bonneville High School. I joined journalism again this year because I like the teacher and I enjoy writing. Some of my hobbies include singing, drawing, writing, acting, and reading. I love musical theater; my favorite musicals right now are Heathers, Bonnie and Clyde, and Ride the Cyclone. I love singing along to songs by Olivia Rodrigo, Conan Gray, Nessa Barrett, Maggie Lindemann and Sabrina Carpenter. In my free time, I mainly stick to drawing and making up my own characters. I love being on stage with friends, dressing up, and pretending to be someone else. I have written many stories over the years, but the work in progress at the moment is about a girl who sees dead people in the 90’s. My favorite book series include The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare, The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, and The Sun and The Star by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro. Bye pookies. |
Linken Newman
Staff Writer Hello! My name is Linken Newman, and I joined Journalism because I thought it sounded fun. I am 14 and a freshman this year. I came from RMMS with barely passing grades! I try my best in school but mainly get distracted. I enjoy listening to music, mainly bands such as Motionless in White, Lorna Shore, My Chemical Romance, Bad Omens, Slipknot and Pierce the Veil. My favorite movie is currently The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I will try my best to write interesting articles for everyone about things people may be interested in. I am not a skilled writer, but I will try to give people a story about whatever y'all find interesting idk. (I really don’t wanna write this) I ain't gonna give y'all a picture because, ha screw you I'm good. I've never written anything that cool, and barely tolerate it but it seems fun. I don’t feel like typing the rest of this but I kinda have to. I’m almost done with the required words, and I'm done, ha, never doing this again. |
Journey West
Staff Writer Hello, My name is Journey West. I have type one diabetes but I am not alone in that struggle because my three older brothers and one younger sister also have type one diabetes . I like to read, kayak, and throw axes with my family. Many people have said that I am a stoic person and rarely show emotion, but that's not completely true. I also absolutely love military history. Everyone in my family seems to be a bit of a hoarder so I have carried that trait by collecting books and historic military headgear. I’m taking journalism this trimester cause I don’t really love to write but I’m pretty good at it so I hope that taking this class will help me learn to love to write a little more. I also help to break a little out of my social awkwardness shell a little with this class. |

Staff Writer Hi! My name is Natalia Vega, and I wanted to join Journalism to experience something new. I wanted to see if this class would be something that I would enjoy and possibly continue to write more in the future. A few things about myself is that I have a cat named Chito that I’ve always loved having by my side! I really love my family. I always put them first before anyone; they are the people I cherish in my life. I want to make them proud. My favorite season is fall; I love October and crime shows because they are very interesting. What motivates me to work hard is my family, as well as the people I am surrounded by. I am originally from Indiana, but I prefer the drier Idaho climate. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time in my kitchen; baking sweet treats is my favorite hobby! I love binge watching The Great British Bake Off or The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon is my spirit animal. I have been married for over five years, and we have a chunky, black cat named Binx. I am a novice crocheter; I can make a mean beanie. I enjoy taking photos for yearbook, and I love seeing my students improve their own photography skills! If you ever see me in the hall, don't forget to say hi! Make good choices. :)
