Kimmie Barnes Co-Editor A spontaneous interview with Analee Grover, better known as Ana, gives a look into her current situation as a promising freshman staff writer for The Bonneville Buzz. Being able to have a fresh start from middle school, Ana is excited to have more freedom, choices, and opportunities to make bigger decisions for herself. One of those decisions was to join The Buzz. She found out about The Buzz through her mom, who taught the class in years past, and her dad, who wrote for the newspaper when he was in high school. Her favorite thing about journalism is the opportunity to write and take pictures. Taking a quick glimpse into her academic future, Ana wants to take more math classes in high school and see how she likes the upper levels of math. After high school, she is interested in pursuing a career in mathematics, education, or engineering. On the flipside, she is also very interested in culinary science. Either way, Ana says she will probably attend Brigham Young University-Idaho. Beyond academics, Ana is on the Bonneville Ballroom Green Team, which is the beginning level, and is loving it so far. When she is not dancing, Ana enjoys reading, baking, and playing the piano. When asked about her favorite book genre, she said, “I LOVE reading, especially futuristic dystopian books. Sci-Fi is pretty good too. I don’t like fantasy or nonfiction very much.” Two of her favorites being They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera and The Unwind Dystology by Neal Schusterman. She also loves big dogs of any kind. Something Ana loves about herself is, “I learn quickly and remember things well. When I’m taught something, I usually remember it well and connect it to other things I know.” Her quick learning is an attribute she has already revealed while working on The Buzz. If there is one person she would choose to be more like, excluding her family and Jesus, it would have to be one of her best friends, reason being “...she’s super social and makes friends really easily. I’m not too social and kind of struggle making friends. She is also an excellent dancer.” Being able to sit down and interview Ana helped give a deeper look into the person behind the shy, sweet spirit. There is so much more to Analee Grover than meets the eye, and if given the chance, get to know her. 10/10.
