Makenna Goertzen Staff Writer On September 15 of this year, The Bonneville Buzz team got to know each other a little more through a practice interview. Charly Dixon, a freshman staff writer, was one of the many staff members questioned. Here are some of her answers to the questions given. “What are your plans after high school?” Charly wants to pursue a career in fashion or interior design since she enjoys the creative side of these professions. She finds pleasure in picking out clothing items, furniture, or decorations and piecing them together to create something she admires. However, she is fearful that her lack of drawing skills could be a disadvantage while working in the fashion industry. “What is your favorite TV Show?” Charly’s favorite TV show is the 1994 American sitcom Friends. She appreciates that the characters all have very different personalities yet still have strong relationships and relate to one another differently. Charly does believe that Ross and Rachel were on a break; for all the fans of the show Friends. “How did you get into a journalism class?” According to Charly, she loves writing despite her hate for English. She finds writing calming and a great way to de-stress. She enjoys writing stories, specifically fantasy-type narratives, that is why she decided to join The Bonneville Buzz newspaper team. According to Charly, “If a teacher says to write a story, I get excited.” She has a lot of potential and creativity to bring to the team. “If you could have dinner with any person living or passed, who would it be?” Charly immediately answered, “Terry Crews,”; American actor, television host, and a former football player for the Los Angeles Rams and San Diego Chargers. Charly discussed how her family adores him. “My whole family has been obsessed with him; we all love his personality.” Her favorite TV show that Terry Crews acts in is the American comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine as the character Lieutenant Terry Jeffords. “What is your biggest accomplishment?” Charly takes pride in the achievement of beating her personal swim times. She has loved swimming since she was a kid, and her father was a part of a swim team when he was younger. She does not believe she will continue swim after high school because she does not want to become a professional swimmer; due to her anxiety about the stress and immense work required in that profession. “If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you go?” Charly said she wanted to stay in Idaho, claiming “there is nowhere else I’d really want to be.” However, she has always loved visiting her distant family in California, even though she does not get to see them often; she can only visit once or twice a year. “What would you change from your past if you could?” Charly explains that she would not change anything about her past because she adores her previous neighborhood and school. She moved from District 91 to District 93 due to needing a bigger house; her family needed more space for her brother, two sisters, and herself. Thus Charly is incredibly upbeat and a genuinely positive person. She tries her best to live in the moment and not to worry too much about her future. She cherishes goofy TV shows, fashion and interior design, writing, and swimming. She is an incredible team member and is a ton of fun to work with on The Bonneville Buzz. Thanks to Charly Dixon for being such a fabulous teammate.
