Griffin Moeller Copy Editor As the summer sun sets for Bonneville High School students, junior Kayla Black hopes to push through all of her classes and gain meaningful knowledge as she navigates her third year of high school. One of her main goals for this year is to achieve good grades and utilize the knowledge she receives. She hopes to end her junior year with a sense of accomplishment, satisfaction, and plans to do well in her classes. Kayla’s favorite class so far is English with Mrs. Wagner because she admires her teacher’s work ethic. She also enjoys being a teacher aid for Introduction to Chemistry, where she helps grade and makes use of her wish to serve others and be of assistance. In fact, she wants to help those in special education in her years after high school. Kayla always makes a committed effort to help others and uses her skills to bond with her peers. Throughout the school year, she will have more time to work on her assignments, especially since she is no longer a part of the Honeybee dance team. Although, dancing is something Kayla is very passionate about. Despite her newfound free time, she will have to balance her schoolwork with her job at Kohl’s. In her time off of school and work, Kayla delights in watching a Netflix documentary series called Girls Incarcerated, “... because it shows you what the reality is when you do things you’re not supposed to and it’s an eye-opener for people who want to make a change.” Kayla is always striving to be a better person, which is something she has learned from the show. She is always trying to connect with other people by matching their personality and establishing a personal bond. Her exciting childhood with her brother has influenced her and she feels that her past decisions have helped her become a better person over the years. Although she will have a lot on her plate this school year, Kayla plans to be kind, learn new things, and grow into a better person.
