Seeking Christmas Joy

During the holiday season, anything can bring Christmas joy if someone tries hard enough to find it. Anything, even if it is completely random, can have some sort of relation to the holidays. For example: lunch meat. Most people would never think that this slippery, thinly sliced, processed meat would have anything to do with celebrating Christmas.. Some people may view lunch meat as cheap and gross, and would much rather prefer top-tier meat from the butcher, assuming that the cheaper lunch meat is less appetizing. But little do they know that the inexpensive, grocery store lunch meat may help some people feed their families because that is all they can afford. The holiday season is all about love and joy. Even though lunch meat may be lower quality, it should still be loved because it has no control over if it is high quality or low quality. It is simply doing its best.

This theory that anything can relate to Christmas joy may seem stretched, but that does not change the fact that it is real. Another random example out of millions of possibilities could be socks. Socks are a lovely barrier that protect and keep feet warm, and even though socks are so common; just by thinking about it, the Christmas season can have some sort of relation. Socks are a necessity and a lot of the time, people take for granted the comfort socks bring. This comfort usually is not recognizable until it is gone. The way that socks can relate to the holiday season is through the principle of gratitude. Often, human beings take convenient things for granted. People should be more grateful for the things they have, especially around the holiday season since there is a focus on gratitude, love, giving, and more.
This holiday season, if people take time to focus on things that may be taken for granted and realize how helpful they are, it could make the world a much better place. Simply taking a minute or two out of the day to focus on the message of the holiday season could open many eyes to all that they already have. By focusing on all the things that people already have, it encourages them to give. People should always try to better their communities and seek out the good. Remember to search for light and give, if possible, this Holiday season. Happy Holidays from The Bonneville Buzz staff!
