Most people can admit the Eastern Idaho State fair helps students wrap up their summer and prepare for school to begin. The Eastern Idaho State Fair is held in late August and early September in Blackfoot, Idaho.
The fair offers entrance at a low price of $0, which includes fun things to do without spending additional money. According to Fun at the Fair, “Fairgoers will again be able to enjoy the free activities around the grounds, Pari-Mutuel Races, Indian Relay Races, and nighttime grandstand acts.” Additionally, people who visit the fair get the chance to see the animals, visit the dog show, and watch the mime, Sir Mimealot. An interesting fact about Sir Mimealot, played by Chris Eyers Yerling, is that he is actually an international mime. An international mime is a mime that is present in two or more nations.  The Eastern Idaho State Fair started back in 1902 by a bunch of cattle workers. Eastern Idaho State Fair 2022 states, “The Eastern Idaho State Fair dates back to 1902 when a few cattle ranchers held a livestock show called the Southeastern Idaho Fair.” The fair was originally made to promote agriculture, and for farmers to display all of their produce.
One of the biggest incentives to visit the fair is the food. According to Fun at the Fair, fried Oreos are a fan favorite and one of the best sweet foods anyone can get. With as many as 300 vendors present, spectators can experience anything from fried to frozen. “The nine-day event starts on Labor Day weekend and gathers about 230,000 fairgoers annually,” explains Eastern Idaho State Fair.
If anyone has been thinking about going to the Eastern Idaho State Fair, it is an amazing experience from thrilling rides to sweet treats. The fair is a great place to go for anyone who wants to have fun with friends and family.
