Staff Writer Homecoming is a tradition that aims to welcome new students and create genuine school spirit for the upcoming year. All homecoming activities are centered around bringing the community together and celebrating school unity! Bonneville High School takes part in celebrating the homecoming of its students every year, making this event unforgettable in the eyes of the students. The Spirit Week dress code is always eagerly awaited. Most students participate in Spirit Week by wearing their craziest outfits. Even the teachers participate in this school event. This year's dress up days were Jersey Day, Pajama Day, Adam Sandler Day, Staff Swap Day, and Extreme Green and Gold. On Wednesday, September 14, the junior girls played against the senior girls at the famous Powderpuff game. Powderpuff is a flag football where football players are committed to teaching girls the basics of their sport. The game was an intense match but the senior girls won. Friday, September 16 was the great Homecoming Assembly, as well as the appointment of the royalty of the ball. This year Isaac Horn and McKenzie Gooch are senior homecoming king and queen. Following the assembly, the annual parade made its way around most of the Bonneville Joint School District. Student Council and other various clubs, from the cheerleaders to Debate Club, rode through the streets on decorated floats starting at Summit Hills Elementary School and ending at Rocky Mountain Middle School. In the evening, the annual football game took place at Thunder Stadium. Boys Varsity played against Idaho Falls High School. During the break, the public was treated to a performance by the Bonneville Ballroom Team, followed by the cheerleaders’ routine. Then the kings and queens of the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes marched onto the field. When the game went into overtime, the opposing team caught an interception allowing them to take the victory (final score 20-21). To conclude this fabulous week, the school organized the Homecoming dance which took place on the evening of Saturday, September 17 in the commons of Bonneville High School.
