A cozy environment. A soft chatty environment with the fresh smell of coffee. A quiet library with the sound of keyboards typing. No matter what grade students are in, a prime study spot may be needed to ensure success. For Bonneville students who are searching for the ideal, local study spots, look no further.
Starting off with a coffee shop, whether it be a local, or franchise, students can have an enjoyable time studying because it has a great quantity of comfortable chairs and tables in corners. Great Harvest, located at 360 A St, Idaho Falls, is also another bakery where one can often hear the distant chatter of people sipping their drinks and smell the sweet, comforting aroma of fresh-baked bread.. For students who may prefer slight background noise while studying, a local cafe may be the best spot to choose. These places are often described as casual and can be incredibly welcoming spots to read or study for an upcoming test.
Next is the Idaho Falls Public Library. It’s often seen as a peaceful place to study—quiet, with others around doing the same, so you do not feel left out or alone. It also has an exciting and welcoming environment. Inside the library, there are different types of seating in contrasting corners, so students can choose to be near others or on their own. A person can feel comfortable having their headphones on and choosing a comfortable seating while being surrounded by the comforting, nostalgic aroma of books. Here, many people check out books to support their studies and feel comfortable knowing everyone else is focused on their own work too. The library also offers various resources and programs that can support high school students with their studies, such as LearningExpress Library and LinkedIn Learning. Finally, the library provides access to computers, which can be helpful for students seeking assistance.
The best spot to study in is a warm, snug, and soothing environment. The setting is perfect, the room is freshly cleaned, lights can go as dim as wanted, and a cozy blanket on the bed. This right here is the best study/working environment because there are no distractions. If needed, anyone can just walk to the kitchen and grab a snack. The door shut, headphones in, and all one can do for the next hour is just study peacefully, and be comfortable in the space of their own home.
There are a multitude of places to study and work. One should find a place that works best for them.

A New Dawn in Panem: Sunrise on the Reaping Shines Bright

A new Hunger Games book by Suzanne Collins was released on March 18th, 2025 following the latest book, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The Hunger Games is about a dystopian society whose government, after a devastating war, now controls a nation divided into twelve districts and the Capitol. On July 4th, each district participates in the reaping to choose two kids, a girl and a boy from ages 12-18, to send to the games. There is a movie planned for the book Sunrise on the Reaping.
The most recent book in the series tells the story of Haymitch Abernathy when he is forced to participate in the second quarter quell for the Hunger Games. A quarter quell is every 25 years, and the game makers decide to do something special for the occasion, such as adding twice the amount of people competing in the games. After an accident occurs, many consider his reaping unfair and illegal. Ultimately, he wins his games, becomes a mentor for District Twelve, and continues his life as a victor. The victors go on and train the kids for the next years’ games. Before his games, the tribute parade did not go as planned. Haymitch is shown thinking through every decision after realizing his mistake would put himself and his family at District Twelve in danger. (Content Warning) Haymitch faces constant challenges throughout his entire Hunger Games. In the final moments, he faces a tribute from District 1 named Silka. During their fight, he manages to slice her eye, while she strikes him in the abdomen with her axe. Severely injured, Haymitch stumbles toward a cliff and collapses. As Silka throws her axe in a final attempt to finish him, it ricochets off the arena’s force field and flies back at her, embedding itself in her skull. This unexpected twist makes Haymitch the victor of the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the second Quarter Quell. His story highlights how, even in victory, he lost everything to the Capitol.
The book follows the same pattern as the first Hunger Games book; it begins with the reaping, the tribute parade, the interviews, the games, and the aftermath. However, this book follows a darker plot line compared to the other books, as it explains not only how Haymitch won his games, but the aftermath of him ending up alone and falling to alcoholism to cope. Although some readers may consider the ending a bit melancholy, it leaves the reader with all questions answered.

Even though both service dogs and therapy dogs can both be very helpful to their owners, there are many key differences between the two. For many, it can be difficult to differentiate between the two. While both types of dogs are trained, the main difference lies in their purpose and tasks.
For starters, service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks that help in assisting with their handler’s disabilities or medical conditions. Service dogs also undergo very intense training to learn particular commands and habits that will help them aid their handler. There are many different types of service dogs and many different ways that they can help their owners. Medical alert dogs, guide dogs, mobility assistance service dogs, allergy detection dogs, diabetic alert dogs, seizure alert dogs, autism service dogs, and psychiatric service dogs are all examples of types of service dogs. Each kind of service dog has a specific training that they learn to learn the tasks and skills needed to become what their title is for. For example, medical alert dogs are trained to let their handler know if a change in their condition is coming. They can do this in many different ways depending on the condition that their owner has. Diabetic alert dogs are trained to detect changes in blood sugar levels and then let their handler know so that their owner can take medication or proceed with caution. Another example of this is guide dogs. Guide dogs are tasked in helping their handler stay in a straight line, help down stairs and curbs, navigate obstacles, and recognize traffic signals. Service dogs are also protected under federal law. The law that protects service animals is the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This allows for service animals to be allowed in any public place, and “no pets allowed” rules do not apply to them.
Emotional support animals can be very helpful to their owners however, they do not have the same federal rights or training as service animals do. Where a service animal can have the responsibility of keeping their handler alive, emotional support animals give their owners companionship and comfort. ESAs also do not have to undergo any specialized training to assist their owners. Despite this, emotional support dogs do still help their owners by reducing anxiety, loneliness, and depression. Emotional Support dogs are also not protected under federal law (ADA) like service animals are. They do not have the same access to public places as service dogs do. However, for an animal to become an official emotional support dog they have to be prescribed by a mental health professional.
Both kinds of dogs are important in their own way for different reasons; however, it is essential to understand the difference between them. Service dogs are allowed in public places and to assist their handlers in any public place whereas emotional support animals are not. Emotional support dogs have to be prescribed by a mental health physician whereas there is no mandatory legal certification with service animals. However, both have special jobs because they help their owners and handlers.

Defying Expectations: Wicked Casts a Spell on the Big Screen

Wicked came out on November 22, 2024 with a story about a female named Elphaba Tropp, who is also known as the wicked witch of the west. She was named after the author's name L. F. Baum, which sounds like El-pha-ba if spoken slowly. Furthermore, this story has been retold in various forms, with the movie adapting the Broadway show into a two-part series. The first film expands on the events of Act One, extending its runtime to two hours and forty minutes.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!
This story starts where The Wizard Of Oz ends, with the wicked witch of the west’s death. In response to her demise, the town rejoices in their newfound freedom and removes all warnings of the witch. Then, they get a visit from the good witch, Galinda, who starts the story of her and Elphaba’s college days together. She explains the start of Elphaba’s ‘wicked’ side with the scandal of Elphaba's mother and a magician known as Oscar Diggs who entices the women with a green elixir. This elixir then causes Elphaba to be born with a sickly green color which is not taken well by her mother and father figure, Frexspar. They turn to Dulcibear to take care of the child and the nanny bear takes care of Elphaba in her childhood years. Later in the movie, Elphaba follows her sister, Nessarose, who was accepted into Shiz University, which is run by Madame Morrible. They then have an argument, and Frexspar tells Elphaba to follow her sister to make sure she is alright. Miss Cottle meets Elphaba and becomes shocked by Elphaba and assumes she is enrolled. Cottle exclaims it is a slight gulch in the road which is referenced from the movie The Wizard of Oz and the neighbor to Dorothy, Miss Almira Gulch. Furthermore, there is an argument over wheeling Nessa around that has Elphaba use her magic unwillingly to make a multitude of items float above the students. This progresses Elphaba’s journey by being enrolled by Morrible with the intention of helping Elphaba with her magic. That displeases Glinda, and she unintentionally agrees to let Elphaba share the suite.
With Elphaba's enrollment, the movie features numerous Easter eggs referencing both the Broadway show and The Wizard of Oz. One such nod to the original Wicked Witch of the West occurs when Elphaba tries to harness her powers during a session with Morrible, paying tribute to Margaret Hamilton’s iconic portrayal of the character. Another is when a professor by the name of Dr. Dillamond, a goat, meets with some old colleagues to talk about the way animals are losing their jobs and ability to talk. This is a deeper version on the animal treatment than the Broadway show, and gives light to the animals hardships. In the movie, Elphaba occasionally experiences visions of the future, two of which are shown. One vision depicts Dr. Dillamond being thrown into a cage, struggling to speak, and letting out a distressed goat sound. Another vision that Elphaba has is when she sees a celebration of her; she thinks it is a positive sign of her future. However, the celebration she sees is the celebration of her death at the start of the movie.

Big Flavor at Burley Burger

Burly Burger is located 3484 S 25th E by CupBop, and OneZo Boba. Although the building is a bit smaller, the interior was homey.. The space was well-organized, the service was pleasant, and the food offered a delightful experience.
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I noticed it was fairly busy but not overcrowded. Since I went on a Thursday, it was not too packed, though I imagine it would be much busier on a Friday or Saturday. The seating area is located on the left side of the building, while customers have to walk towards the back to order.. There were two service windows: one for mobile order pickups and another for placing orders.
The customer service was excellent—they gave me my food in about five minutes. When I asked about their special deals, they provided detailed information on the offers and explained how different portion sizes could help me save money. The menu also had different varieties of burgers and different meal choices such as chicken tenders, sandwiches, and salads. The description under each choice was helpful, as it showed the ingredients to the options, and their descriptions about how they tasted. Unfortunately, the menu did not include any allergen preferences, but they did offer salads and kids’ specials for smaller, healthier portions.
I ordered The Duke and their Classic burger, which were both around $11 each. While waiting and observing the interior, it was clear that the space was well-lit. The main light sources are exposed, hanging light bulbs from the ceiling, which create a pleasant light that is not too bright or dim. The restaurant also offered fry sauce, which was a nice addition since many burger places typically only provide ketchup.
The Classic was stacked well, and the vegetable to meat ratio was satisfying. It did not have anything special added, although it was an intriguing burger that stayed true to its name and had classic burger features. Including the burger, it was too plain and I wish it did have some type of flavoring to the meat. The Duke had a bit of a kick, fitting its description as a Western-style burger. The flavorful combination of BBQ and burley sauce enhanced its taste, while the crunchy battered fries and fry sauce complemented it perfectly. Although, some bites did have more sauce than others, so I think it could have been distributed more evenly.
Overall, the Burly is a well crafted restaurant  that offers amazing burgers. Visit them between the hours of 11AM- 9PM.
